Reserve A Study Space
HM students and employees can reserve a study space in the Central Library or in Branch Library Pasing. It is possible to choose an individual space in one of the large Reading Rooms, the Gallery (Central Library), or a small group study room.
General Information
- Max. of 3 reservations per day (provided the time does not overlap)
- Study space can be reserved up to 6 days in advance
- Study rooms are reserved by one person, group studying is possible in these rooms and in the group room
- Booking options depend on the resource:
- Reading room and gallery: flexible time blocks from 30 minutes up to 1 day withing the opening hours
- Carrels, group room and meeting boxes: flexible time blocks from 30 minutes up to 5 hours maximum - 1 booking per person per day
- In the Central Library, there are study spaces where no reservation is necessary. Keep to your seating number. (study space with a number= must be reserved, study space without a number= no reservation necessary). For study spaces without a number, use a "parking meter" when you leave for a break.
- After your booking has been successfully completed, you will receive a booking confirmation by email. You can use the QR code in this confirmation to check in at the circulation desk on the day and at the time of your booking. Your booking is only guaranteed once you have successfully checked in.
- Please use the cancel option if you are not coming
- Eating is not allowed in the library, drinks with screw-caps are allowed
After successfully reserving a study space, you will receive an email confirming the reservation. Bring the confirmation to the circulation desk on the day (from a smart phone or as a printed copy).
A reservation has an expiration period of 30 minutes after the start of the reserved time if no 'check-in' takes place. Reservations that are not checked-in are automatically cancelled, and the 'study space' is made available for a new reservation.

To book via the app, please follow these steps:

Using Booking System
- Select a Library and Study Space category, e.g. Lernplatz: Zentralbibliothek Lesesaal, Lernplatz: TB Pasing Carrel, etc.)
Carrels = individual study rooms
Lesesaal = Reading Room (large study area)
Galerie (Central Library) = Gallery - Choose a day. Then scroll down to where you can select the start and end time of the reservation.
- From the drop-down menu, select a specific study space (number). An overview of the study space seating arrangement is available above.
- Complete Reservation
- After your booking has been successfully completed, you will receive a booking confirmation by email. You can use the QR code in this confirmation to check in at the circulation desk on the day and at the time of your booking. Your booking is only guaranteed once you have successfully checked in.
- You must check-in within 30 minutes after the 'start' time of your reservation. If not, the reservation is canceled.
- If you would like to cancel your reservation in advance, please use the cancel option in the confirmation email you received after completing the reservation.
- Please check-out If you leave before the end of your reserved session. At the Central Library, there is an additional scanner by the exit where you can check out yourself. At the Pasing Branch Library, please speak to a member of staff at the counter. The study space is now available for others to book.
