HM Publication Server
HM Publication Server offers access to published scientific papers written by members of the university.
The Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences provides a publication server for staff members and students of the university to publish their scientific papers in digital format (e.g., dissertations, articles, preprints...). The server uses OPUS software.
Opus is an open-source software for creating open access repositories. The software was further developed from the Verbundzentrale des Kooperativen Bibliotheksverbunds Berlin-Brandenburg (KOBV) and supported by the Bibliotheksverbund Bayern (BVB). For further information: KOBV website
As a current or former staff member of the Hochschule München, you have the option of publishing your scientific research work.
Advantages for authors include:
- Protection of your intellectual property using unalterable electronic documents
- Inclusion of a URN in every publication, which can be cited, for example, in a job application
- Enhanced security of your research work, especially in unacademic circles (e.g., companies, businesses)
- Transfer of your valuable contribution of knowledge and technology to the university
- Documentable developments and updates of your research results by way of the inclusion of new editions, along with the existing publication
- Flexibility in the choice of media, e.g. text, images, audio and video, including streaming support
- Searchability of your full-text work
- Your work is searchable via Google Scholar, Base Bielefeld, Directory of Open Access Repositories and the Katalog der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek.
- Option for a Creative Commons licence for the work
- Possible embargo and user limitations via the university network
- Publishing through the HM Publication Server is free
The HM Publication Server can publish all formats of texts, images, audio and video. We suggest you choose a format that is widely accessible, for example, PDF/A.
When used for academic activities, the PDF file is not limited in functions such as searching, printing; function for marking text and copying are enabled.
Possible file formats: .htm, html, .mp3, .mp4, .png, .txt and publish archives in .zip format
Please download and complete the Publishing Agreement (In German Only). Make sure to sign all areas of the contract that require a signature. It is not possible to publish the work without completing the Publishing Agreement.
Please send the completed Publishing Agreement and your file (preferably PDF/A format) per email to us.
Before submitting your work for publication, check the copyrights and licencing laws, so that the publication does not stand by any rights from third parties. Should you wish to publish the work with an additional publisher, please be aware of copyright laws and contributions to collections.
UrhG §38 (In German Only)
Especially for theses and dissertations, do not include personal information that third parties might abuse, e.g. private address, telephone number, email address or signature (Eigenständigkeitserklärung or declaration of originality). Either remove the information or blacken it out.
Please ensure the PDF that is submitted is not password protected.
