Remote Access to eMedia
Students, staff and employess of HM have the opportunity to access our eBooks, eJournals and databases remotely; from home or favourite place to study.
Access to this service is either by VPN (requires the installation of eduVPN-Client) or ezAccess (no installation required).
External guests may use library PCs to view our licenced electronic resources, but are not permitted to print or download to an external device. We are not permitted to provide guest users with access to our licenced electronic resources.
To use ezAccess for accessing the HM Library licenced eMedia, all you need is your university user account. Easy!
ezAccess can only be used for accessing the OPAC, DBIS (Database InfoSystem) or EZB (Electronic Journal Library).

To use VPN, you need to first install VPN-Client (eduVPN)(In German Only). Registration is via your university user account. Please refer to configeration standards for HM students and employees (In German Only)
Remember: By default, the profile HM "Split-Tunnel" is selected and only the traffic to the MWN services is routed via the VPN. To use our eMedia, "Full Tunnel" must be activated when logging in!
The simultaneous use of any other VPN software prevents access to our licenced eMedia.
Problems or additional questions should be directed to > Leibnitz-Rechenzentrum (In German Only)

BayernWLAN(In German Only) is available through the Munich Scientific Network (MWN) via LRZ-Access-Points. Because it is free to use and without data volume restrictions, it is a viable option when connecting to the Internet.
You do not need to set up a personal account. Just select @BayernWLAN and click on 'Verbinden' to complete the connection.
For additional information about BayernWLAN: LRZ-BayernWLAN
Important Note: Even though you have free access to the Internet via BayernWLAN, direct access to the library's eMedias is not possible.
