Reference Management
The Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences provides support in managing scientific literature through 'Citavi' and 'Zotero', and the open-source programme 'Lyx'. Information for the following programmes includes the system requirements, downloading tips and training support.
Zotero is a reference management tool. It is available for Windows, Mac, Linus and iOS and can be downloaded directly from the Zotero website.
Zotero is designed to capture bibliographic information, e.g. from library catalogues, databases, and the web, and store it so it can be used later for creating citations, bibliographies and reference lists. It allows you to easily insert a citation in the paper when using MS Word and create a grammatically correct bibliography with the citation style you need.
Installing Citavi:
Step 1: Download and install the current version of Citavi
Step 2: It is also necessary for students at HM to also apply for the University Site Licence. Please use your student email account as you login email address

Lyx is an application for writing and structuring your, e.g., paper, books, academic articles and other documents where it is necessary to provide the information in a framework. In conjunction with LaTeX ....It is especially useful for creating mathematical content in documents. Standard to the programme is the ability to create citations and bibliographies.
Lyx is an open-source product. Lyx can run on Window XP/Vista/7 and Mac OS X, Linux and OS/S. It is possible to download via the link: www.lyx.org. Please note the HM Library is introducing the Lyx 1.6x version.
